Something Happens return to Wexford Spiegeltent on Saturday 27th October
Something Happens raised the roof at their brilliant live show in 2016, so we had to bring them back to the Spiegeltent for 2018! Legends of the late eighties Irish music scene, Something Happens were one of the Irish bands of the period who trail-blazed a commercial path across the country and beyond.
While not recording anymore (singer Tom Dunne is a well-known radio presenter) they still play live to their adoring fan base. With a catalogue of hit singles at their disposal, the Something Happens! live show is an unmissable trip down memory lane.
Something Happens were an Irish pop-rock band whose heyday was the late 1980s – early 1990s. The band’s line-up comprised Tom Dunne (vocals), Ray Harman (guitar), Alan Byrne (Bass) and Eamonn Ryan (Drums). They shot to prominence with the single “Burn Clear” which was featured on the soundtrack of the 1988 Irish movie The Courier.
Hue & Cry
“Marvellously talented men” – Jools Holland, BBC Radio 2
Platinum selling duo Hue & Cry (Patrick and Gregory Kane) caught the public’s attention in the late 80s with a string of chart friendly hits, including ‘Labour Of Love’ and ‘Looking For Linda’. Tracks that formed the sound track to the school years of many!
The band’s pop sound was not to last, however, as in the 90s they took an experimental turns, and demonstrated their abilities to slip in and out of a multitude of styles, including jazz. After the six album exploration, the Kane brothers felt compelled to go their separate ways and pursue individual creative outlets. However, the hiatus was short live, ending in 2005 when the revitalised Kane brothers were inspired to return to their pop roots albeit with a modern, matured outlook.
Together with the songs from the new album Pocketful Of Stones, we are sure that some of the long loved favourites from your school days will also feature in the live show too!
