Following their much talked about and spectcular performance at Electric Picnic on Saturday, The Academic have just announced a run of Irish dates which includes a one-night stand at Wexford Spiegeltent Festival on Fri 3rd of November.
Having toured across the world since releasing their hit laden debut album ‘Tales From The Backseat’ in 2018, The Academic’s sophomore record, ‘Sitting Pretty’ was released in February this year. Going straight to the top of the Irish album charts it gave the Westmeath quartet their second consecutive No.1 album.
Adding to the already impressive catalogue of indie anthems such as Bear Claws, Different, Why Can’t We Be Friends, ‘Sitting Pretty’ gives us even more big singalong’s such as ‘Don’t Take It Personally’, ‘My Very Best’ and ‘Pushing Up Daisies’ which have become some of the biggest festival songs this summer.
It’s been a busy year for the band having toured relentlessly across the world and the boys are excited to be on home soil. Craig Fitzgerald says, “We are so excited to be bringing the ‘Sitting Pretty’ Tour back to Ireland. It’s been a whirlwind of a year and we have got to play in so many new countries but coming back to Ireland to finish off the year is something that we are all really excited for”
